My sister and I spent September, 2018, in Tilting, Newfoundland, having been awarded a shared artist residency. We felt adrift, two landlubbers exploring a watery world, while sheltered in a welcoming community. Just down the road from the house/studio we could drop down into Oliver’s Cove and then hike out around the headland, often stopping to paint here at Pummely Cove Pond, a blue oasis in the rocky terrain. This is a collage made from several drawings - a layered memory piece. I’ve left the edges of the paper raw and uneven. The piece could be framed to show or hide them as preferred.
Watercolour, chalk pastel, graphite, collage.
Size: 13.75"h x 15.5"w. Unframed.
