Canadian artist, David Milne, built his final studio on Lake Baptiste near Bancroft, Ontario. I wanted to experience that place and get a feel for where he had last lived and worked. One day, when out on the lake, the sky was crisscrossed with contrails from overhead jets, making huge white X's. It felt to me that those X’s marked the spot, so to speak, and underscored the importance of that place to me and how fortunate I was to be there in that moment.
Monotype, oil pastel and graphite.
Size: 20"h x 28"w. Unframed.
