Moving along the rocky shoreline in a small boat, a narrow opening in the rock funnels dark water through. The passageway beckons us to investigate to see what is on the other side. Autumn-reddened vegetation serves as a carpet, drawing us nearer. Can you hear the water bubbling through?
Magnetawan River was created using palette knives. I worked quickly on this piece, capturing the bright sky on the water’s surface, balancing high contrast with high colour. Consequently, dark water against the bright surface leads us, along with the red vegetation towards the opposite shoreline.
