Painted with the ancient medium called encaustic, which is heated beeswax mixed with damar resin and pigment applied to a wood panel. Shellac is then applied to the surface and burned which forms small cells. The painting is ready to hang and will withstand heat of over 130 °Fahrenheit or 54 °Celsius.
