"Antelope Canyon"
Antelope Canyon in Page, Arizona is on Navajo land. It is the most famous canyon in the USA and perhaps even in the world. It is called a slot canyon with sheer rock walls eroded into sedimentary rock formations and about a 120 foot depth of water. These canyons are up to 60 million years old. My husband, son and I kayaked into this incredible canyon with several other kayakers for probably the most unforgettable experience I have ever had. We reached the mouth and had to reverse as it was too narrow to turn around! I was able to mold the formations with the best medium for the job - pastel. The colours and lines are as close to reality as possible - a real departure for me but necessary.
