"Bracebridge Icefall"
Every winter in Bracebridge as one drives over the brace bridge out of town, there is a hairpin corner with a massive rock face on the left. If the conditions are right ie. cold, icy and wet, an equally massive block of ice hangs over the precipice in a threatening pose. When the sun hits it, the colours of the ice are like a rainbow with the blues particularly dominant. With a good dose of acrylic paint I wanted to capture this dramatic sight as the road curves between the rock and the river. The wetness of the rocks is contrasted by the dark browns that we see against the lightness of the ice.
