I have spent years learning the lives of loons - when they have their babies, best time to photograph them, eatting patterns, etc.  My husband and I set out for a paddle knowing a pair had recently had their baby.  I had the opportunity to photograph the baby still riding on mom's back but to my surprise, when I uploaded the image on my computer, I was delighted to see that there were, in fact, two babies, the second one was tucked under the wing and not visible from our canoe.
