This painting is part of a new series I’m developing on the theme of immersion. In a river or lake we become part of the natural world rather than admiring it from a distance. We experience a sensual contact that’s immediate, sustained, and longed for. This piece has a buoyant sense of movement that expresses the feelings of freedom and connection I often feel in the water.
