This piece is titled "First Signs of Spring" and reflects the change of seasons here in Muskoka.  The last crusty bits of snow and ice gradually melt and shrink, the greys and browns of the landscape are slowly replaced by greens and blues, and wildlife begins to stir.  The large centre stone is a transparent plume agate, which reminds me of when the creeks begin to flow and the small turquoise drop represents both the warm blue sky and fresh rains to come.  The handmade sterling silver links in the chain symbolize the last remains of winter, waiting for its transformation.
